Abraham and Lot: Two Kinds of Believers in the Church Today

There are always two kinds of believers in the Body of Christ. I am not referring to people who merely attend church, carry a Christian name, or grow up in Christian families without ever truly accepting Jesus Christ. I am speaking specifically about those who are genuinely born again , redeemed by faith, and who truly belong to Jesus. Among these true believers, Scripture reveals two contrasting categories, clearly illustrated through the lives of Abraham and Lot (Abraham’s nephew). The Bible makes it very clear that both men were righteous by faith . Genesis 15:6 declares that Abraham “believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.” Likewise, 2 Peter 2:7 speaks of Lot as a “righteous man,” distressed by the wickedness around him . So righteousness was not the issue. Both were saved by faith. Yet their lives produced vastly different outcomes . Righteous, Yet Worlds Apart Though both were righteous in God’s sight, one lived a victorious life while the other lived a d...

Don't Remind God What He Has Already Forgotten: Live By Written Words

There is no point in reminding God of what He has already forgotten. Billy Graham once used a powerful illustration. He said it is as if there is a great tape recorder in Heaven, recording everything we have ever said or done. One day, on the Day of Judgment, that tape would be played every eye would see and every ear would hear what was done in secret. But Billy Graham went on to say something even more astonishing: when a person receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and is born again, that tape is completely wiped out and deleted never to be played again. Wow! What a God we serve. A God whose compassion and love for His creation goes far beyond what we deserve. And this is not just a preacher’s illustration  Scripture itself confirms it clearly . For I will forgive their sin and will remember them no more.” Hebrews 8:12 When God says He will remember our sins no more, He means exactly that. Scripture tells us that God keeps His word,  He even exalts His word above His nam...

Why Jesus Said I Never Knew You Depart From Me : Misunderstood Scripture (Matthew 7:21-23)

This passage is one of the most mis-understood scriptures in the Church today. Sadly, it has kept many born-again believers living in fear, insecurity, and spiritual bondage, terrified that the Lord might cast them away on “that day.”   But fear never comes from truth. The Gospel is not a message of panic; it is a message of peace.  Therefore, we must look at Matthew 7:21–23 as it should be interpreted through the lens of the finished work of Christ and the consistency of Scripture. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.   On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’   And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. ’ The Misinterpretation: “You Can Lose Your Salvation” Many preachers use this passage to clai...

Why Many Believers Get Offended After Giving

There is a growing and widespread misunderstanding among believers today, especially among men in the church. Honoring or blessing a man of God whether financially, materially, or through acts of service has long been a vital practice in Christian communities across the world, including in Nagaland. The Bible reminds us repeatedly that honoring our spiritual leaders is biblical, healthy, and necessary for the Body of Christ. Supporting our pastors, uplifting fellow believers, and helping one another in practical ways are beautiful expressions of Christian love. However, even though the practice is biblical, the understanding  behind it is often flawed. The Bible teaches that we are blessed to be a blessing, and Jesus Himself said it is more blessed to give than to receive. But many people give with a misplaced focus most of the time, our expectations are directed toward people rather than toward God. And this is where the real issue begins. Very often, when we bless our leaders or ...

He Could Have But He Would Not: The Power of Go And Sin No More

Jesus is the only sinless man who ever walked on earth, the only one who had every right to condemn the world, yet He chose not to. We often remember John 3:16 , “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,” but we tend to overlook John 3:17 , which says, For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. This verse beautifully reveals the heart of the Father through the life of Jesus. Humanity has always carried the notion that God is a distant being, always angry, always waiting to punish. But Jesus came to correct that misunderstanding. He came not as a judge but as a Savior. His mission was not to condemn, but to redeem. Yet, Jesus never made sin look easy or less destructive. He knew the power and consequence of sin that it enslaves and destroys. But He also knew that man, by his own effort, could never overcome sin. Therefore, He always spoke grace over the people He encountered, the kind of grace that lifts a p...

What Heaven Saw That We Often Overlooked

Have you ever truly paused to think about what Jesus went through before He went to the Cross and after He experienced it? Many people only know the surface truth: “Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins. ” We say it so casually that sometimes we fail to grasp the weight of that statement. Some even assume that since He was the Son of God, bearing the punishment of humanity must have been easy for Him. But the Bible reveals something far deeper, something that should humble our hearts and bring tears to our eyes. Though conceived by the Holy Spirit, Jesus was born of a woman , born in the same flesh as you and me (John 1:14, Galatians 4:4) . He lived as a man. He hungered, He wept, He grew weary, He felt pain, and He faced rejection. Over and over, He referred to Himself as the Son of Man. Every blow, every lash, every insult, every nail, He endured not as a divine being immune to suffering, but as a man in flesh and blood. The divine Son took on the full vulnerability of h...

Monday Faith, Wednesday Doubt: When Salvation Becomes a Scorecard

Most Christians today misunderstand how faith actually works. Many think their faith operates based on how well they behave or how consistent they are in their spiritual routines. They received Jesus, accepted salvation, and now live under the belief that they must keep doing all the right things  to maintain that salvation. Sadly, a large number of believers still live in bondage to insecurity and fear,  fear of dying, fear of losing their salvation, fear that one wrong move could cancel out all their goodness.  Deep down, they think that if they happen to die while doing something wrong or missing a religious duty, they might end up in hell. But this is not the life Jesus died to give us. We all live in a fallen world, one where sin exists and the enemy still tries to manipulate our minds. So, when believers mess up a little , compromise a bit here and there, they quickly conclude that they have lost their salvation. They start doubting whether God still loves them or w...

In the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.”   (Romans 1:16–17) These words, written by the Apostle Paul, the apostle of faith and the preacher of the Gospel of Grace , stand as a powerful declaration of the heart of Christianity. Paul boldly proclaimed that the Gospel he preached was not of human origin, nor dependent on human strength or wisdom. He called it “the power of God that brings salvation,” emphasizing that salvation is not the result of man’s efforts, but God’s divine work through Jesus Christ. In verse 17, Paul writes that “in the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed.” This statement carries profound meaning. Paul is declaring that the righteousness God requires and accepts is re...

WATCH OUT: THE MIDNIGHT CRY

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. ” The above verse reveals the incredible patience of God toward unrepentant people. God is merciful, compassionate, and full of love. His grace is still available to all who seek Him. Indeed, we are living in the period of God’s grace, the year of the Lord’s favor . Yet while that is true, we must also acknowledge another truth,  God’s patience will not last forever.  There is coming a time when grace will give way to judgment, and this is why we must discern the hour we are in right now . God does not force anyone into eternal fellowship with Him. Though He loves every human being with an everlasting love, He has given each person the freedom to choose,  to either be with Him or to reject Him. Yet His love was not without action. He emptied the treasures of Heaven  and sent His onl...
